Stephen Cash Returns to Direct NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
Stephen Cash’s reappointment restores deep propulsion and safety experience to Marshall leadership at a critical juncture for SLS and nuclear systems. The move aligns center management with Artemis hardware realities and future Mars propulsion needs. Evidence rests on the official NASA announcement and Cash’s documented career record.
The transition follows Rae Ann Meyer’s acting tenure and occurs as NASA accelerates work on advanced propulsion and power systems. Cash’s combination of institutional memory and post-NASA industry perspective positions him to maintain engineering discipline while integrating new technologies. Success will be measured by hardware delivery milestones rather than announcements.
