Analysis of 13 Million Females Links Endometriosis to 2.3-Fold Higher Migraine Odds

Analysis of 13 Million Females Links Endometriosis to 2.3-Fold Higher Migraine Odds

Observational data associate endometriosis with elevated migraine odds via shared inflammatory and neural pathways. Multiple small studies and one large unadjusted analysis support the link, yet publication and causal testing remain pending. Clinical coordination may improve symptom management while definitive trials are awaited.

A planned trial will test whether CGRP monoclonal antibodies reduce endometriosis-associated pain. Until results emerge, coordinated gynecologic and neurologic care remains the immediate clinical implication. The current evidence base consists of retrospective coding data and small mechanistic studies; prospective cohort confirmation and mechanistic RCTs are required next.

⚡ Prediction

Woldeamanuel: CGRP-inhibitor trial will report ≥25% reduction in endometriosis pain scores versus placebo at 12 weeks in at least one primary endpoint.
