Trinity framework records 34-point mean gain on 28 multimodal benchmarks via capability tree evolution

Trinity introduces capability-driven recursive self-improvement for multimodal agents. It converts task trees into hierarchical capability trees, evolves specialized harness modules, and routes configurations via public metadata. Reported gains reach 34 points on training and 26 points on unseen benchmarks.

The Trinity couples Creator, Explorer, and Evolver roles to link world generation with harness evolution. Verified execution trajectories feed the Evolver, which converts surface task categories into shared capability nodes. Creator then generates simplified verifiable simulated worlds for each node while original-task evaluation tracks transfer. Explorer builds reusable modules through selective inheritance, accumulating updates inside a fixed harness topology.

Results show mean lifts of 34 points on the 28 training benchmarks and 26 points on the 18 held-out benchmarks. The capability-aware router selects module configurations from the evolved tree using only public task metadata. Two embodied tasks outside the training distribution confirmed positive transfer without additional fine-tuning.

The architecture replaces manual harness iteration with automated reorganization around capability requirements. This decouples environment construction cost from task diversity growth. The fixed-topology harness tree enables incremental accumulation rather than full retraining at each cycle.

Next deployments will test whether the same capability tree supports additional modalities and whether router accuracy scales with tree depth beyond the reported 46-benchmark set.

⚡ Prediction

Trinity: Evolved harness modules will exceed 70% zero-shot transfer on three new embodied benchmarks by October 2027.
