Developer Uses AI Agent to Generate 3D-Printed Pegboard from Child's Sketch
The GitHub repository documents a small pegboard project using plywood and pegs already present in the apartment. A photo of the sketch created with Oli was pasted into Codex along with specifications that holes must be 40mm apart and pegs 8mm wide. https://github.com/virpo/pegboard
The creator bypassed one to two hours of manual drawing in Fusion 360. The AI agent produced the design in five minutes, after which the 3D printer began heating up. Multiple prints were run to adjust dimensions for proper fit. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47580910
The final files are shared in the repository for others to print or modify. An additional unit is being produced to hang on the front door as an interactive element for visitors. The author lists it among unusual AI applications from recent months. https://github.com/virpo/pegboard
