Two-tone Floquet drive melts PXP flat bands via resonant pair production in finite-blockade Rydberg chains
Preprint derives mechanisms by which finite blockade allows resonant pair production to melt Floquet flat bands in driven Rydberg chains. Analytic results from Schrieffer-Wolff and Floquet perturbation theory match exact diagonalization and propose correlation measurements as probe. Work links quantum-scar protection to molecular resonance physics.
Next steps include embedding the derived effective Hamiltonian into larger-scale tensor-network simulations and testing the predicted correlation signatures on programmable Rydberg platforms. A clear experimental threshold would be observation of |Z3> lifetime exceeding 10 drive periods with pair-correlation contrast above 0.7 before melting sets in.
QuEra/Harvard Rydberg team: nearest-neighbor pair correlations in driven |Z3> state remain below 0.15 for at least 8 drive periods when blockade ratio exceeds 15, measured within 18 months.
