US Energy Secretary Reports 72 Ships and 20 Million Barrels Transiting Hormuz in 24 Hours

Daily Hormuz transits of 20 million barrels demonstrate that Iranian closure threats have lost operational credibility. Gulf bypass infrastructure and naval escorts have shifted the physical and economic balance. Markets are pricing lower sustained risk premia as a result.

Pipeline expansions already contracted by Saudi Aramco and ADNOC will add a further 2.5 million barrels per day of bypass capacity by 2027, locking in the structural change regardless of interim diplomatic outcomes.

⚡ Prediction

EIA: Hormuz tanker loadings will average above 18.5 million barrels per day for four consecutive weeks by end of July 2025.
