NASA Sets MAX POWER Expo for X-59 Display and Moon Base Update at Kennedy
MAX POWER serves as a public showcase for ongoing NASA aeronautics and lunar programs rather than new scientific data. Coverage has underplayed schedule risks for the X-59 flight test campaign and the still-unfunded scale of Moon Base utilities. The event functions mainly as media and public engagement ahead of 2027 budget decisions.
The event schedule released October 30 centers on public displays of the X-59 aircraft, Artemis III crew appearances, and a November 7 news conference featuring Administrator Jared Isaacman and Moon Base Program manager Carlos García-Galán. NASA frames the expo as the capstone of its Inspiration Tour flyovers and a platform for nuclear propulsion and Roman Space Telescope outreach. The Moon Base announcement targets long-term South Pole infrastructure, aligning with the agency’s shift from Artemis landing goals to sustained surface operations.
NASA: Moon Base news conference will announce at least one new international partner agreement before December 2026.
