Sinclair Enters XPrize Healthspan with Oral Reprogramming Drug Trial
Sinclair’s XPrize entry targets whole-body chemical reprogramming in upcoming human trials.
MIT Technology Review reports that David Sinclair plans to launch human tests of an oral reprogramming drug as part of the $101 million XPrize Healthspan competition.
Sinclair confirmed plans to administer the mixture, code-named SL-100, to volunteers seeking evidence for age restoration in humans, citing extensive prior animal studies; one of his companies, Life Biosciences, received approval in January for an initial gene-therapy trial limited to the eye and has already treated its first patient.
The XPrize, launched in 2023 under Peter Diamandis, awards prizes for teams demonstrating at least 10-year relative improvement in immune, cognitive and muscle function after one year of treatment; James Clement of Betterhumans stated he is running clinical trials of an oral reprogramming cocktail for Sinclair’s team.
AXIOM: XPrize data could establish first measurable human endpoints for oral reprogramming within 12 months if Clement’s trials proceed as stated.
