Jabil deploys SAP Integration Suite across 100+ sites to standardize data flows ahead of AI rollout

Jabil identified fragmented legacy systems and site-specific spreadsheets as primary barriers to consistent data movement. Harish Manohar, SAP IT director, stated that any modernization must deliver measurable value and that simplification precedes innovation. The company therefore retired disconnected tools and established a single integration layer to connect supply chain processes end-to-end.

Manufacturing operations with more than 30 countries of presence typically exhibit 15-25 percent data inconsistency across sites when integration is absent. Jabil’s approach directly targets this metric by enforcing uniform governance and real-time visibility, reducing manual reconciliation steps that previously delayed exception handling. Regulated segments add compliance constraints that the standardized backbone must satisfy without operational interruption.

Integrated data enables downstream AI use cases including predictive disruption detection and automated planning. Without the prior simplification step, added models would replicate existing silos. Operational resilience improves when response latency drops from days to hours, a threshold Jabil explicitly links to the new architecture.

Next phase targets measurable AI outputs: exception-handling automation at 80 percent of sites and planning forecast accuracy above 92 percent within 18 months, both contingent on sustained data quality above 98 percent.
