HyTerra reports 96% hydrogen in Midcontinent Rift wells

Natural and stimulated geologic hydrogen production is advancing through targeted drilling in the Midcontinent Rift. Data from existing boreholes and early wells quantify flux rates and concentrations. Operational viability depends on capture efficiency and downstream logistics by 2028.

Exploration firms targeted iron-rich mafic rocks formed during the 1.1-billion-year-old rifting event. USGS prospectivity mapping flagged the Kansas-to-Michigan corridor as the highest-potential domestic zone.
