NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, are on the third day of the Artemis II mission aboard the Orion spacecraft (https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/ce3d5gkd2geo). Koch stated "Something about you senses that is not the Moon that I'm used to seeing" (BBC). The crew shared a photo of the Orientale basin, which NASA said marked "the first time the entire basin has been seen with human eyes" (BBC).

The spacecraft was more than 180,000 miles from Earth as of 23:00 BST on Saturday per NASA's online dashboard (BBC). Orion is flying a trajectory that will carry the crew around the far side of the Moon and back to Earth (BBC). The mission is the first crewed flight in the Artemis program following the uncrewed Artemis I test in 2022.

NASA's primary mission documentation lists the crew and objectives without reference to real-time far-side imagery from this flight (nasa.gov/artemis). BBC reporting draws directly from NASA-provided crew audio and imagery (BBC).
