Sen. Lindsey Graham, 71, Dies Suddenly After Brief Illness; Trump, Zelenskyy Pay Tribute

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a longtime foreign policy hawk and close ally of President Donald Trump, died late Saturday, July 11, 2026, at age 71 following what his office described as a "brief and sudden illness."

His office posted a statement on X early Sunday confirming the death and requesting privacy for the family. Emergency personnel responded to a call of cardiac arrest at his Washington, D.C., home, according to audio reviewed by NPR.[1][1]
