Patty Ferreira began modifying cellulose stabilizers in 2014 and scaled to full adhesive replication of nanocellulose performance. Current formulation accepts virtually every plant cellulose input. MIT STEX now routes packaging and construction partners for joint trials. Company data claims the adhesive enables full container recycling by eliminating petroleum glue contamination.

Primary evidence is internal performance modeling rather than third-party LCA results. Comparable nanocellulose adhesive papers from 2023-2025 show similar emission ranges but at higher material cost. Silvis claims standard cellulose removes that cost barrier.
